Microsoft Office 2007

A Microsoft Office 2007 for a Windows based computers is an essential software.

Buying Microsoft Office 2007 series software is not that easy in my country (Indonesia). The boxed one become doubled price from the market retail price in America. But at last I buy it from my friend who live abroad and now it's on the way to my hand.

Safari For Windows

At last one of my favorite browser is coming to windows, it's the safar 3.0 for windows!. Steve Jobs once said that iTunes on Windows was like “giving ice water to someone in hell”. Today, Apple is giving more ice water to the people of hell by releasing a public beta of Safari 3.0 to Windows users.

According to Apple, Safari 3.0 is 2 times faster than Internet Explorer and 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2 when loading pages. My experience say that this web browser is fast and is worth to try.

• Improved inline find. When using the Find Command in Safari (cmd-f), a find bar will appear on top allowing you to enter your search term. When a matched text is found, Safari will dim the page and show the selected match with an orange background with white border.
• Drag and drop tabs.
• Resizable text field — Safari lets you resize textarea forms.

Yahoo Messenger VS Skype (VOIP)

These two software are the software I use for internet calling, as a VOIP provider i think i like Skype more than the YM because its more reliable and stable. Yahoo Messenger is not a bad choise but I like it for Video chat than to use it for Voice Chat. So I often use use these two software simultaneously YM for Video and Skype for VOIP. What do you think?

Online Banking with Dell

Now I'm using my Dell notebook as my primary working computer, this include the online banking actvities. There are several tips for doing online banking:

1. Make sure you're access the "https" site
2. Choose bank who provide TOKEN RING for password to the transaction
3. Make sure you always clean up the private data after done with the transaction. It's easy to do this with Mozilla Firefox just press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL
4. DO NOT use public computer! eg. computer from internet cafe, if you must use another online service...

Second Life

I've just installed Second Life on my Dell notebook.

I think this is a little bit boring and need a very high speed internet connection. For me who live in Indonesia I cannot run this game smooth. The graphic is very laggy and it's very annoying. I'm still choose to play Tales of Pirates aka Pirate King Online for online game.

DDWIN.EXE SOLUTION

It's time to get rid the "very annoying ddwin.exe" error message!!!.

After google about ddwin.exe error message I finaly found how to get rid of this message. Here's how:

1. Make sure you have the genuine version of windows (in my case Windows XP - SP2)
2. Run all you windows update (Mine is 82 updates), restart after it's done.
3. The message should have disappeared when you complete the Windows Update.

If I known before about this thing I should still have my Dell System Recovery partition in may Dell Latitude D620 Notebook. A lesson tobe learn is - be patience read and gather all information when you're confronting some new serious problem. I skip that patience thing with Windows XP and I have to lose my DSR Partition. I miss my mac.

DWWIN.EXE Problem fixed

After 2 hours browse the internet to find out how to get rid of the annoying message "dwwin.exe - dll initialization error..." I finally made it. It all because of the Internet Explorer 7.0, I follow the sugestion from developerfood.com, then I uninstall the Internet Explorer 7.0 with all its component, and the result : IT'S DISAPEAR!!!, thanks god. Now Im using Firefox as my internet browser it's faster but I have to use the IE if I want to run the diagnostic tools from Dell.

Annoying DWWIN.EXE problem

It is my second day using windows xp and now I already got an error message everytime I shut down my Dell Latitude D620 notebook. Error "dwwin.exe - DLL initialization faild" that's what it says, i've google this proble but the best result to fix this problem is to disable the report unless it get crucial. Oh my god can anybody give me another good solution?

Pirate King Online aka Tales Of Pirate

It's my third month playing this MMORPG, it's fun, it's challenging and for sure it's online. You can choose 4 races from Lance, Carsise, Phylis and Ami. This game is free to play forever as mentioned on its official web site. This game has alot of quest to complete so you will not get bored to level up your character through train.

Mozilla's Thunderbid

Having a Windows notebook replacing my Apple Powermac G4, is one thing that previously I strongly avoided! But because there's no online stock trading software for Macintosh in my country so I have to buy a Dell Latitude D620. Enough about the hardware issue, luckily software that I used on my Mac are also made for windows too. One of them is Thunderbird, this powerful yet free email client is one of the software I download from the internet. It offers features like spam filter, auto setup mail account, and also it has the professional mail client software.
